The Environmental Studies Program is excited to invite you to the 42nd Steven Manley Memorial Lecture, presented in partnership with the Wildfire Prevention and Policy Lecture Series, taking place on May 6th at UCSB’s Corwin Pavilion. This year’s distinguished speaker, Wade Crowfoot, California’s Secretary of Natural Resources, will present a lecture titled: “Confronting Crises: Helping People and Nature Thrive in the Age of Climate Change.”

New Book out March 3: Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods

Living Roots, co-edited by Environmental Studies faculty member Liz Carlisle, makes the case for putting perennial foods at the center of our farms and our plates, to add flavor and nutrients to our diets while reducing emissions and making our food system more resilient to climate change and economic uncertainty. Liz will be on a national book tour this spring while on sabbatical, and hopes to connect with ES alums while on the road!
