Dan has been a professional land use and environmental planner for over 25 years in both public administrative and private consulting capacities. Highlights of Dan’s career include serving as the: Manager of the Residential Permits and Commercial and Industrial Permit Sections of the Ventura County Resource Management Agency, Planning Division; Deputy Director of the Santa Barbara County Planning and Development Department, Long Range Planning Division; and sole proprietor of Dan Klemann Consulting. Dan currently is an Assistant Vice-President for WSP, one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms, providing environmental impact analysis and land use planning consulting services primarily for public agencies in California. His professional and academic interests include: environmental impact analysis; local and State land use and planning law; public administration; and political theory. Dan’s private interests include spending time with his family, surfing, playing and listening to music, playing soccer, traveling, spending time outdoors, and volunteering for the Santa Barbara Foodbank.
